Yep, I read this, and wonder, would it be a bad thing to see today’s Republican party torn up?
sometimes I ask rhetorically, how it is, that Hillary and liberals, being so superior (in their own minds), could have lost an election to Trump.
I would use the same reasoning here, that regarding the GOP, how is it, that 16 or 17 career politicians representing the GOP in primaries, were all defeated by Trump? If they are so superior and their GOPe credentials so sterling, how is it that Trump was able to plow through and gain the nomination of a party which didn’t want him, which is what they are trying to say, isn’t it?
The stated reasoning is “Trump stirred up anger” thus conveniently forgetting that the tea party got started before Trump ran for POTUS.
They don’t call it the stupid party for nothing.
“I would use the same reasoning here, that regarding the GOP, how is it, that 16 or 17 career politicians representing the GOP in primaries, were all defeated by Trump?”
I think it was 16, and going with that, the next question is:
1) Why did 15 other Republicans IMMEDIATELY condemn Trump for wanting to build a wall? After all, the vast majority of the base loved the wall and what it represented. (with Cruz being the only exception of the 16, but still only half-hearted praise)
So now the answer: Because the Republican Party has gotten so controlled by special interests (particularly the Open Borders bunch) that it is TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE for a person to move up the ranks if they’re serious about border control - totally impossible. It’s not that they don’t exist - they do by the millions, it’s just that they never even make it to their state legislature, much less to a position to run for president. Trump was able to TOTALLY OWN the issue because the vaunted Republican Party that the Bush’s think so highly of literally cleared the field for him.
