I'd LOVE to order a full investigation of Hillary Clinton says Trump - but I can't because...
Daily Mail ^ | 11/2/17 | Nikki Schwab

During a radio interview Thursday, President Trump belly-ached that he could not pressure the Justice Department to investigate his former political rival Hillary Clinton, because that's part of being president.

Trump was sitting down with WMAL's Larry O'Connor, who had wanted to pick the president's brain on why he couldn't fulfill his campaign promise to 'lock her up,' something he would encourage his supporters to shout about Clinton.

'But you know the saddest thing, because I'm the president of the United States I am not supposed to be involved with the Justice Department. I am not supposed to be involved with the FBI,' he explained. 'I'm not supposed to be doing the kinds of things I would love to be doing and I'm very frustrated by it.'

Trump didn't stop there.

'Why aren't they going after Hillary Clinton with her emails and with the dossier, and the kind of money?' Trump mused. 'I don't know, is it possible that they paid $12.4 million for the dossier? And how was it – which is total phony, fake – and how was it used?' he continued.

Last week, a law firm used by Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Committee acknowledged its role in paying for a dossier filled with unsubstantiated opposition research about Trump's ties to Russia, gathered by a former British intelligence agent.

NO ONE Trump appoints or hires is allowed to be incompetent, EXCEPT FOR THE HEAD OF THE DOJ? Even James Comey wasn’t allowed to be imcompetent!

This is what I called BS on: "because I'm the president of the United States I am not supposed to be involved with the Justice Department"

He is the President. He damned well can give guidance to the AG. He can also make sure that the AG he nominates is going to go after people where it is warranted. This should have been discussed before Sessions was nominated

I'm tired of waiting. I thought Sessions was a good choice, I now think he should be fired. And if firing the AG is not getting "involved" then what is?

Just one example of the MSM’s BS “reportage”...

A random article from a few months ago - as published

“Former President Barack Obama said it’s “frustrating to have to mobilize” so often to keep lawmakers from repealing the Affordable Care Act.”

vs:

“Former President Barack Obama belly-ached again about lawmakers who keep trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act.”

As it would be if it were Trump.

Give him more time. There’s a time for everything. First he has to get everything all lined up, because there’s only one chance to nail Hillary, and his guys have to bring things to that point.

I think we’re on the way. And when he makes a statement like this, it isn’t because he doesn’t think he can do anything.

Be patient. Trump knows what he is doing. The calm before the storm is over and the storm is rolling in fast.

I do hope you are right, and I want you to be. The wheels do seem to be coming off the bus: Donna Brazile, Elizabeth Warren. The Podesta issues.

For what it’s worth, I’ve read Trump is about to reshuffling the pecking order list at the DOJ about who can appoint Special Prosecutors. Boente the DA from Eastern Virginia has resigned and that Trump is giving special attention for his replacement. Trump could do an end around if Sessions and Rosenstein continue to stonewall. Trump could use the new Eastern Virginia DA to go after or appoint a prosecutor for crooked Hillary.

I think Trump is saying between the lines that a President is not supposed to ‘have to’ deal with the justice department.

I think he will if he has to.
He can fire at will.

And so it begins..

BOOM!

Hannity was on fire tonight.. Tonight's show A MUST SEE! Seems as though we become aware of ANOTHER crime by Hillary each and every day, and she ADMITS to some of them.

Trump can't order the Justice Department to investigate the myriad crimes associated with the Clintons.

Absolutely he can. The Department of Justice is exclusively an Executive Branch department, that reports to the President, per the Constitution. His hesitation to enforce his will on them right now is strictly politically based, and giving in to the supposed "recent tradition" that Presidents won't interfere with the wheels of justice. But anyone claiming that Obama and Bill Clinton didn't directly give orders to the DoJ is trying to re-write history.

Actually, you're absolutely right. It's one of the President's responsibilities to uphold the law and he achieves this through the Justice Department.

I had inadvertently regurgitated some liberal BS in my previous post.

Thanks for posting that. So the question is, why is our politically incorrect President being so politically correct on this law enforcement issue?

Is he doing it because he thinks it’s the right thing to do, for some reason, even though he knows he’s breaking a campaign promise, and disappointing his base?

Or is it because he’s literally being blocked, or threatened with some catastrophic response, if he were to do it?

When you factor in his Twitter tirades on this subject, I’d tend to think the latter. Whatever is actually going on, unfortunately it’s giving the impression that Twitter is his only method of controlling the DoJ, and that the DoJ is perfectly capable of completely ignoring him, when we know that’s not what the Constitution says. Of course the genius crowd here will say it’s all part of a master plan, and that Trump will have his cake and eat it too in the end, which could happen but he sure is looking weak in the interim.

What precisely do you mean? That Trump can and should use the DOJ to go after people? The DOJ is supposed to do its own work and not be directed by the president.

Plus, I’m sure the DOJ is going after sHitlery anyway.

I don’t get your drama.

Since you seem to think you know what and who Sessions is investigating or not investigating, do you work in the DoJ? Because that is the only way you would know those details.
