Because they want to destroy our great nation in its present form, is the answer. They really do not like the Islamic fundamentalist anymore than we do. However, they are their temporary allies in the destruction of our great Republic.
It is much like WWII. We allied with the evil Soviet Union to destroy another evil which was NAZI Germany.

In a group of 100 potential immigrants 51% believe in Sharia Law. That is actually a real number of those from the Middle East. In some nations it is much higher.
We do not know which ones do believe or do not believe. Should we admit anyone of them if we do not know with certainty those whom are a danger?

I worked in the Middle East for several years. I have worked with damn good people that would be an asset to our great nation. However, if they can not be properly vetted they should not be allowed to immigrate to our nation. Sadly this will deny entrance to some good people. This is because of very bad people that live in those nations that wish us great harm.
The last I heard we did not have terror attacks from the Poles, the Hungarians, the Czechs, not even the Amish, etc.
