I don’t think he had anything to ‘give up’, that’s why he’s in the mess he is in...

He may have gotten additional incriminating information and statements from Manafort.
A confession form Manafort that he knew the transactions were illegal will seal it for him.

They wiretapped Carter Page. Page and others in a meeting with Trump nixed Papadopolous’s suggestions of meeting with Putin, other Russians...
So did Manafort.
I think Papadapolous tried everyone he could after that, and may have been the one who suckered Trump Jr.
Papadopolous was either working for the FBI then or for Chris Steele who was working for both the FBI and the Hillary Campaign.

He did try to peddle himself to everyone in March 2016... problem is in June 2016 some of those initially skeptical may have met with Russians in spite of their doubts, like Manafort. Not sure if they had met with NATO by then, though, to explore the idea, as they had first said should be done.
I’m torn. I want to find out everything as soon as it happens. OTOH, maybe I should just wait for the movie...

Maybe the FBI, who years ago had an investigation open on Manafort that was NEVER closed, planted George Popadop simply to get Paul Mannafort.
Maybe the Russians, who were connecting to both George and Manafort planted one or both of them.
Maybe the Clinton team, through the Podesta Group planted Lonesome George.

I don’t think Trump Jr was in on the March meeting where Adm. Kubic and Sessions and Page said no to Papadopolous’s idea of meeting with the Russians, so he would not have had the benefit of their criticism of the idea on national security grounds. Papadopolous was sent beck over and over again , however many times it took, to cast the bait until someone took the bait- and someone political and not in the military or intel community would be more vulnerable to the lure.

I know people who know Trump personally, and they say he is the real deal. They haven’t found anything because there is nothing to find- the guy’s a boy scout.
We tried to get together a group to convince him to run for Governor of NY. This was AFTER he had released a statement saying he was not planning to.
We had a meeting where we spent an hour crafting a 120 character (for twitter limitations) statement he could use to ‘rescind’ his previous statement and decide to run.
But in typical Trump fashion, he decided to run for President instead of ‘just’ governor!
So,...we helped him decide to run. (actually we begged him to run)

If that is true, it still may not exonerate whoever may have originally planted Papadop, nor indicate for certain that the FBI planted him from the get-go as an undercover agent..
