Genesis 1:1: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." There is no better explanation anywhere, scientific, philosophical, religious, or otherwise for the the reason of the existence of earth and all else.

This blew my third grade mind, when Sister Bernadette told us this.

The common argument is then who created god or did god always exist.

Wrong. That's what occurred. The explanation is
And God said,
Let there be light
: and there was light.
The Word.

Fine....but who created God ?
To: Fungi
Did he create it for the other religions? Kind of poses a problem doesn’t it?

The concept of the origin of the universe coming from nothing is bizarre and the most renowned physicists agree, though they quibble over the details. The concept of an eternal god seems equally bizarre. Before the universe their was no time which is also beyond logic. Everything that we know has a beginning except the universe. When one can tell me what existed in the instant before the big bang I will tell you if it is physics or god.
I vote for god.
