Senator Jeff Flake’s decision to abandon his 2018 re-election campaign in Arizona has thrown open the Senate race there, exposing deep fissures not only on the Republican side where a nationalist insurgency is gunning for the party establishment but also among Democrats contending with a rising left.
Establishment Democrats have high hopes for Representative Kyrsten Sinema, a centrist who recently dined in the Blue Room of the White House with President Trump, teaches a bipartisan spin class in the House gym and has broken ranks with her own party on key votes. She was one of only seven House Democrats, for example, who voted to create a select committee to investigate the 2012 attack on the United States diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya.
But those impulses toward bipartisanship have soured Arizona progressives against the candidacy of an openly bisexual woman who would seem to fit the liberal mold.

I truly hope that AZ can elect someone who is NOT part of the establishment.
Ex-Mormon, atheist and bisexual isn't going to be an easy sell in this state. Add to that, politically she has been all over the place in her career. What does she believe in this week?
Liberal papers like the New York Times go out of their way to say that ‘this liberal or that liberal’ is ‘conservative’ because they want the independent vote to go for the democrat.
I believe they said the same thing about Bernie... ‘conservative’ in many ways.
Flake dropped out because he was at 18% and had no chance of winning. Period.
Sinema is not a “centrist,” what a lie! She herself has referred to herself as a “Prada Socialist.” In other words, she desires to take money from those who have earned it in order to enrich herself. And killing babies. That’s #1 on her agenda. She’s effing evil.
Also supports Hamas, who stated goal is the genocide of Israel
The deep state will do all they can to get a Dem in the seat.
Well hell, sign her up.
Who could ask for anything more?

The Deep State would be happier with an Establishment Republican in that seat because it would create more dissension — and chaos — within Republican ranks.
The Cheap Labor Express will flood the Republican field to deny conservatives a Senator who sides with the citizens and the rule of law.
If Kelli Ward wins the nomination, they will work to elect the Democrat.
It’s just too easy—I’ll call her “Enema.” After all, Mel Brooks would have starred her under that name.
