Who, Orr what is YHVH? I guess I am too stupid.
YHVH is a transliteration of the name of _God_ in the original Hebrew text, in the left side of the Bible.
Y = letter Yud, looks sort of like a ‘
H = letter Hey, looks sort of like a h
V = letter Vav, looks sort of like a l
H = again.
This, His actual name appears more than 7,000 times in the text. Most everywhere in the English you find God, or esp. Lord, the actual Hebrew under that word is YHVH. Lord and God are titles and there are many gods, but there is only one YHVH.
Furthermore, this is where the the fairly accurate English pronouniciation, ‘Jehovah’ comes from. But it would be more accurately, ‘Yehovah’ or ‘Yehowah’ as best we know from Hebrew scholarship.
Interesting to me, better readings of some phrases found in the left side:
the God of my Salvation: YHVH Yeshua
the God who heals me: YHVH Rapha
the Lord of Hosts: YHVH Tzvot
I love it when the English text, in Exodus says (adding Hebrew terms):
YHVH is my strength and my song, and has become my Yeshua (Salvation)
It is not a matter of smart of stupid, it is just a learning, as one finds time(:
