The István Markó Interview: Possibly the Best Thing You Will Ever Read on Global Warming.

Full Title: The István Markó Interview: Possibly the Best Thing You Will Ever Read on Global Warming. Pt 1: The Science.

CO2 is not – and has never been a poison

Each of our exhalations, each of our breaths, emits an astronomical quantity of CO2 proportionate to that in the atmosphere (some >40,000 ppm); and it is very clear that the air we expire does not kill anyone standing in front of us. What must be understood, besides, is that CO2 is the elementary food of plants. Without CO2 there would be no plants, and without plants there would be no oxygen and therefore no humans.

Plants love CO2. That’s why the planet is greening

Plants need CO2, water, and daylight. These are the mechanisms of photosynthesis, to generate the sugars that will provide them with staple food and building blocks. That fundamental fact of botany is one of the primary reasons why anyone who is sincerely committed to the preservation of the “natural world” should abstain from demonizing CO2. Over the last 30 years, there has been a gradual increase in the CO2 level. But what is also observed is that despite deforestation, the planet’s vegetation has grown by about 20 percent. This expansion of vegetation on the planet, nature lovers largely owe it to the increase in the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Also research Lord Mockton if this isn’t enough climate denier boner food.

Funny thing is, if the libs said the reason we have global warming is because of pollution, they would have gotten a lot more cooperation and positive feedback.

Without CO2 there would be no plants, and without plants there would be no oxygen and therefore no humans.

The oxygen is not the only thing we need from plants.

Dr. István Markó completely failed to mention that without plants, there is no food. Literally every biological molecule in our bodies started off as atmospheric carbon dioxide that a plant converted into macronutrients that we could consume (directly or indirectly through an animal intermediary).

I'm glad to see that Dr. Markó took up this fight before he passed away. The current efforts to remove carbon dioxide from the air and render it into chemical forms that are unusable by living organisms is, quite literally, an existential threat to all life on earth. We need more scientists fighting back on this. Having more life scientists speak up who understand the carbon cycle would be awesome.

Funny thing is, if the libs said the reason we have global warming is because of pollution, they would have gotten a lot more cooperation and positive feedback.

The problem here is that we took the threats of pollution very seriously and did something about it. But the leftist "environmentalists" can't just congratulate themselves on a job well done; they have to keep finding something to fight for. It is like so many causes that were honorable when they first started out--for example, the idea that women and minorities should have equal rights. Once the goal has been reached, the activists just can't stop. They become toxically pathological in their pursuit of the goal that has already been reached.

You mean we’ll pollute more to get warmer climates so people will stay in Canada instead of flocking to Florida ?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have a relative (rolling my eyes) who, despite being raised by conservative parents, but due to associations with liberal friends in high school (which has continued on and intensified in an artsy-fartsy college) has gone to the dark side - BernieBot, anti-gun .... and vegan. She also is a disciple of the man-made global warming cult. I’ll have to remind her (will see her at Thanksgiving) that without plants, what is she going to eat? :-)

Stop exhaling if you believe CO2 is a dangerous pollutant.

Problem solved overnight.

I was listening to a podcast just a couple of days ago on BBC Radio 4 - “In Our Time: History” and the episode I was listening to was entitled “Ice Ages.” During the last minute and thirty seconds of that episode, one of the commentators stated that the earth’s natural state is a “green house” - in other words, no ice at either pole. He further said that during 85% of the earth’s history there has been no ice at the poles. Even if he’s wildly off in his estimate, it still shows that “anthropogenic global warming” is horse crap.

"Gorebull Wahrumism" succeeds only because the vast majority of it adherents have zero sense of proportion -- or comprehension of powers of ten (orders of magnitude). Here's a little test I use to test them -- and I've never had a single liberal "AGW fan" come even remotely close with their answer:

~~~~~~~~~~~
Atmospheric CO2 is now reported as 0.4% (400 ppm) of our atmosphere. (Over a decade ago, when I created this graphic, the figure was 360 ppm...).
If you traveled 360 ppm of the distance from JFK to LAX, where would you be -- over NJ, PA, WV?
~~~~~~~~~~~

If no one gets it right, I'll provide the answer later, on this thread...

At 360 ppm, you’d still be waiting on the taxiway for your turn to take off at JFK. At 400 ppm, you would be “pre-rotation” (wheels still on the runway) on your takeoff roll...
