As I said in another thread: This seems to me to be a no good guys involved situation.
Barcelona/Catalonia was a key center for the Communists in the Spanish Civil War, FWIW. There would seem to be echos of that in todays Catalonia, based on some reports.
Gen.Blather has commented, I think the Catalonia thing would be an excellent opportunity to ignore world events until they sort themselves out.
I strongly concur. This is not a situation that cries out for US involvement/leadership.
