Complete Headline: Dallas police were WARNED Lee Harvey Oswald would be murdered by a 'committee' - but still sent him to his death, infuriating FBI head J Edgar Hoover, newly released JFK documents reveal
The murder of Lee Harvey Oswald could have been prevented after the FBI were warned of his impending death - but Dallas police failed to protect him, it has emerged.
Nearly 3,000 documents related to JFK's shooting have been declassified by The White House, among them remarks made by then-FBI boss J Edgar Hoover the day Oswald died.
According to Hoover, the FBI were contacted by a man who said a 'committee' was plotting to kill Oswald, who had been arrested for killing the president; the feds then told police in Dallas to protect the presidential assassin.
Instead, Oswald was walked out in front of a crowd, cameras - and local nightclub owner Jack Ruby, who marched out and shot him dead.

Isn’t that an interesting fact. LHO could have purchased better, cheaper rifles anywhere in Texas WITHOUT a record being generated.
LHO bought one making SURE there was a record by having it sent to a P.O. Box.
Did you create this? I’ve had it in my files for years and post it on Facebook every Nov 22.
If I recall correctly, Oswald worked at the Texas schoolbook depository - but I wonder for how long? It has always struck me as an amazing coincidence that the motorcade passed the building where Oswald worked.
The chosen route was not suspicious, it was a common road to get across town in those days. In fact, my mother and grandmother were driving through only three blocks behind, oblivious as to who was ahead. They said the traffic ahead was slow, and then they became stuck in the traffic for hours after the shooting. It wasn’t until later that they heard the news.
I remember my initial disbelief when a student at school stuck his head in the doorway and announced to the classroom that the President had been shot. Then I thought of Lincoln and decided it was plausible. Regular programming on TV was interrupted for three days and I was disappointed there were no cartoons to watch!
It all seems like yesterday and I always hoped the truth would eventually come out. It is one of the few mysteries of my lifetime that I would really like to know.
So Oswald was in on the plot to murder him.
at least one of the re-enactments uses multiple static targets rather than a single moving target. which re-enactment do you regard as definitive proof that it is feasible that someone could have made the 3 shots?
Actually a good movie. When they are on the boat it is really something else. And below the dam.
From my view the burden of proof is on those claiming conspiracy to show that recreations definitively show that Oswald could NOT have made the shots. No such proof exists.
Some days you shoot “Ruby,” some days “Ruby” shoots you.
From my view, a person is innocent until proven guilty, especially if the person was killed before trial.
I agree as regards the legal system. Were not talking about a court of law here.
in which case, LHO is innocent until proven guilty IN A COURT OF LAW.
Which is the only context in which guilt is established (in a civilized society).
And most specifically, not in the DPD basement, with an mafia assassin’s gun.
Unless you would have the same kind of process applied to YOU someday, if you were ever charged with a crime. Or would you be ok with that?
So you render no opinion on the guilt of John Wilkes Booth? Mohamed Atta? Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik? They werent guilty?
The topic is LHO, the circumstances of his death, and his guilt or innocence.
Question for you— if you think LHO is guilty now, after he was killed, then in your opinion, was LHO guilty prior to his death? If so, then by what authority? If not, what is the variable by which LHO’s guilt or innocence is measured? —In your opinion, of course.
LBJ and the CIA
did away
with JFK.

Knowing what you know now, if you had the means and the opportunity on Nov. 24, 1963, would you execute or support the execution of LHO?
I mean, you believe he is guilty, right?
Yeah sure. Rifles were really cheap in Texas in 63. Gas stations were giving them away with purchase of 10 gallons of gas.
So if they’d have had some peanut butter there they could have saved him by getting the gum out of the shirt?
If so, then by what authority?
Can we stop being silly? My authority is my opinion, just as your protestations of innocence (or possible conspiracy) are your opinions based on your understanding of the facts.
If I had the means and opportunity to go back in time, Id go back to 1979 and buy Apple stock, among other things.
I was in the 5th grade. I can still see my teacher going to answer the black wall phone (intercom) and then telling us the President had been shot, and school is dismissed. The school was very large, and yet hundreds of us walked the halls to our school buses in silence....could have heard a pin drop.
Isn’t it amazing how everyone vividly remembers exactly where they were at that moment in time. Everyone except GHWB, who has changed his story, saying he didn’t remember where he was or what he was doing on that day.
