The title of this rant is an absolute lie.
The State tax deduction benefits all who actually pay taxes, and go through the trouble to itemize their deductions.
This has nothing to do with “Elites.”

With standard deduction about to double, only those in the top 10-15% of incomes or living well beyond their means on a home will see any benefit from a SALT deduction (I benefit from a SALT deduction today to the tune of about $2,500/yr federal, but doubling standard deduction keeps me even and the rates coming down drops me).
