The focus is being misplaced. If this article accurate, there is a secondary explosion to the bombshell 2 weeks ago.
2 weeks ago it was revealed by the General Counsel for the House Intelligence Committee that Christopher Steele had been employeed/paid by the FBI since as far back as 2010.
From this article:
“July 5: Steele provides his research to an FBI contact, The New York Times has reported. The documents made their way to FBI counterintelligence chief Peter Strzock two weeks later.”
Question for all of you folks; If you are paying a Foreign Agent, a former spy, to conduct opposition research for a presidential election, would you not be more than a little angered that this guy took the work YOU were paying for and carried it to the FBI?
Here is a set question that the media needs to be asking:
- Did Fusion GPS instruct Steele to carry that information to the FBI?
- If “Yes”, did Fusion GPS do so on the orders of Marc Elias, or on instructions from any other person?
- If “No”, did Christopher Steele have an arrangement with the FBI to forward all information he received on any job he did to the FBI?
- Did the FBI inform the FISA judge that the information they were presenting to him was from someone they PAID to give them?
- Can Congress subpoena the contract Fusion GPS had with Christopher Steele?
- Can Congress subpoena the contract/agreement the FBI had with Christopher Steele?
From where I sit right now, I see the FBI paying for political information which it carried before a FISA judge to gain a wiretap warrant to gather more political information which was then spread around the government so it could be leaked.
Interesting.
Possible scenario?
The DNC/HRC/Marc Elias hires Fusion for Oppo research.
Fusion, on their own accord, recruits Steele to create the dossier with a Russian connection.
The Dossier is delivered to the DNC et al and they say “We can’t be involved in this”, “No thanks and we need some money back, unless you can make it appear as if it came from a US intelligence investigation”. “And we may be able to help with that”.
Fusion then starts “Shopping” the Dossier to the FBI etc...
The FBI bites and engages Steele in an effort to verify the dossier. Other US intelligence agencies also begin to look into the claims and it eventually reaches the White House where a full blown spying operation on Trump et al is put in motion with the unmasking of Trump and his associates.
All of this activity, of course, finds its way into the media and becomes “The Story”. Trump colluded with Russia, according to reports by multiple intelligence officials.
