Gone through about 50 documents randomly selected throughout the release. A few initial take a ways:

- Almost all the documents appeared to be very brief descriptions of other documents that were not attached. In some cases the document references multiple pages released, but these are not attached to the file. Either I don’t understand how to access them, or these may be the more detailed pages that are still under review.

- It appears that there is a heavy surveillance of Cubans and anyone who may have traveled to the Soviet Union and was a suspected spy.

- Several known criminals were under surveillance.

- Activities of suspects incidental to the surveillance were often redistributed to other agencies for suspicion of other criminal activities.

- The reality that this was not yet the “computer age” is apparent in the style, notes and poor appearance of the pages released.
