And there is no maximum on stupid. So doubling and redoubling can go for quite a spell.
However, stupidity is the one crime the Universe will ALWAYS punish, and not always in commensurate degree. At times the punishment may seem to be altogether inappropriate and excessive to an extreme, but the Universe can be a cold and unforgiving taskmaster.
There are already some very well researched and pragmatically tested rules out there for human actions and interactions. Ignore them, or flout them, only at your own great peril.
