We should stop paying dues to the UN. That used to be effective. Did we lose our backbone?

The Export Administration Act of 1979, signed into law by Jimmy Carter, prohibits compliance with foreign boycotts which the US objects to, initiated by countries, charging the State Department with designating boycotts US persons cannot comply with. BDS, being run by a palestinian NGO, has never been designated as it's not a country. Personally I think it could have, let the courts rule on that issue. If State wanted to. The UN is the same situation, it's not a country. That's why several dozen states have passed anti-boycott laws without the country specificity, and why a revised law is sitting in Congress. Garnering opposition from the left. After all, why shouldn't the UN be allowed to dictate to Americans and American companies.
