This happened with the San Bernadino “lone wolf” shooting as well. Two of them so I guess they were lone wolves.
Their laptop HD disappeared as well. I remember footage of FBI divers looking in a nearby lake.

I was wondering if these days, the gov’t even needs to physically get a hold of a hard drive.
Don’t the phone companies work with gov’t to share information re: their customers, and doesn’t the NSA have the capability to already know what’s on people’s hard drives? I could well be wrong, but I think they do, and perhaps this might be why reports of gov’t seizing computers seems to be much less in recent times.
A day or two after the FBI searched their home there were unescourted gawkers wandering around it. I thought “this seems like they don’t want to find any evidence.”
