Five teens accused of dropping rocks from an overpass near Flint, Mich. have been identified and charged, and more details have been released about the so-called "prank" that ended up killing a man.
Their so-called game took the life of 32-year-old Kenneth White of Mount Morris, Mich., authorities say. White was riding in a van coming home from work when authorities say a 6 lb. rock came crashing through the windshield, killing him. Authorities say the rock was dropped from an overpass at the hands of those five teenagers.
The teens have been charged each with one count of second-degree murder, and one count of conspiracy to commit second-degree murder. Prosecutors say 17-year-old Kyle Anger of Clio is accused of throwing the 6 lb. rock that killed White, which hit the windshield, then his face and ricocheted into his chest.
White suffered fractures to his skull and face. His cause of death was ruled blunt force trauma to his head and chest. His family was too distraught to speak Monday after the charges were announced.
The other teens charged, who all attend Clio High School, include 16-year-old Mark Sekelsky, 15-year-old Trevor Gray, 16-year-old Mikayden Payne, and 15-year-old Alexzander Miller. They are all being charged as adults.
After throwing rocks, the five teens "drove to a McDonald's where they ate," Sheriff Robert Pickell said.
Prosecutors say several other drivers reported rocks hitting their cars on the highway but no one else was hurt.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says a total of 20 rocks were found, including one that weighed about 20 lbs. At least four damaged vehicles were on the shoulder.
Those five teens are expected to be arraigned Tuesday and face up to life in prison.
Charges were announced just a few hours before friends and family gathered at a funeral home to mourn White, a father of four children who was engaged to be married. He was riding home from work around 8:30 p.m. the day he was killed.
"Nobody wins," the sheriff said. "The young people are charged criminally. A young boy lost his father, and all of the families are left grieving."

Soulless dirtbags, failed by their parents.
I was shocked.
Sad on so many levels. These boys have no soul, no concern for others. So much more we can say. I hope they enjoy hell in prison, followed by hell in the hereafter.
Try ‘em and fry ‘em.
Oh, life. O.K.
That's why they put the fences on all of the overpasses.
Send them to China to harvest their organs
I’m glad & surprised though, that they are being charged with murder! It’s about time the law starts protecting people and not the scumbags that break it. I’m sorry for the families loss.
Something tells me, those young men are not going to fare well in prison. for life.
Little bastards. Someone did this to my Dad, who was in his late 70’s at the time. He handled it very well, stayed calm, got to the side of the road.
He wasn’t hurt, but getting your windshield smashed at high speeds is extremely dangerous.
Yup. Used to live in the area. Was gonna say if they’re from Clio they’re all White Trash idiots.
Glad to see they’re being charged as adults.
Precisely
They killed a White, there will be no mercy.
I’d be surprised if all five of them got life, but the thrower might. The defense attorney is priming the pity pumps as we speak.
Soulless little monsters. I hope they rot.
Fathers, talk to your children regarding the importance of NOT “just going along”.
Kids always seek acceptance of their peers, without regard for parental advice.
Your child must OWN his/her set of values and self-respect.
Rock tossing time downstate, Salad tossing time upstate.
The victim has a nice face. RIP.
Ok, you're a mixed bag. Your statement is that of a SJW White-Priv specialist, but some of your other earlier comments are fairly conservative.
They deserve what they get. Irresponsible fools and murderers.
If Michael Moore had a son......
