I think that his wife’s hectoring and her Methodist Church liberalism has turned George W. Bush very sour.

You said it perfectly. This is absolutely why a UMC that predates the War Between the States has shrunk and the good, solid, Bible believing members are turning away.

I hope most of us can maintain our sanity and our sanctity thru these times...
My Church, is a solid, growing, Bible-believing Methodist congregation.....
The lay leaders have had to tell District several times to butt out or face schism, though.
