In off-year elections, the voter turn out is a fraction of what it is on a regular election cycle.
My party had a candidate running for an office in Raleigh this month. The district he’s in literally, during the 2016 primary had 3 times the voter total that the general election in 2017 had. It is a sad state.
So, we go on to Virginia. He’s right. If every single non-white voter that voted in 2016 voted for the Dem in 2017, mathematically, he would probably be accurate. The problem he has is that probably less than 1/6th of that group will actually vote. It’s a stupid statement designed to allow him to say something stupid and then when you challenge him on it, he can claim he’s accurate. The problem he has is that there are a high percentage of non-whites that voted for Trump compared to Romney or McLame.
Let’s not fall for his stupidity.
