You seem to be setting up a straw man fallacy. He's "suicidal", he's "irrational", he's "crazy", you say people are saying.

The guy has threatened us for whatever reason. He's dangerous. Period.

Of course he is dangerous. I never said that he wasn't. What I don't think is that he is suicidal. Nor do I think that he would do anything to jeopardize his hold on power. This is almost certainly an attempt on his part to (dramatically) increase his leverage.
