I think that the Dems took over after the nomination at the convention, not after the election.
Perhaps but I remember several of my family members not happy about the bankruptcy rumors and leaving companies high and dry without paying them. That was the story of his business dealings going around HOT in the news. So perhaps the Republican smear was in full mode then.
