But he has deeply disappointed me. And not only me, but most FReepers. I expected SO MUCH MORE from him. I really did.

Be a little more specific. What did you expect from him after 8 months on the job?

But let's use Occam's Razor. The reason Hillary and Obama are not being prosecuted for what is apparently a crime, while on hand we have a special counselor investigating a situation where NO CRIME has even been assigned shows me and people like me that the government we expected is being thwarted, and moreover allowed to be thwarted by that same government.

How do you know that there is no ongoing investigation of the Clintons and their Foundation? Or the unmasking scandal?

The special counsel is supposed to be investigating Russian influence in our elections along with alleged collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign. The Steele dossier and the Comey firing are fueling this farce. Putting an end to it is very difficult politically.

I voted for Trump to clean up the country. That didn't mean letting these blatant crimes of the Clintons simply walk and not be further investigated.

I don't think that is the case and I don't believe Chavetz who is a weasel. He is not a big fan of Trump. And I have some real questions as to why he abruptly left Congress. I smell a rat.

Unless I see otherwise, Sessions is presiding over the end of the rule of law.

Sessions is restoring the rule of law that ended during the Obama administration. Bush wasn't much better than Obama when it came to the enforcement of our immigration laws.

All I can say Cousin Mike is I hope you are right.

Because I have very mixed emotions about AG Sessions.

First, it didn’t help that Trump was so damn angry at the guy for recusing himself so quick like he did.

Now we hear mostly nothing except how Mueller is appointing a Clinton cavalcade and we have to stand by and watch?

However, I don’t think the Justice department is standing quite so silently as we might believe.

There is more to this story than we know, more to the unmaskings, more to the Iran deal, more to the Gitmo releases.

I think it’s all about the money.

Your comment about Chavetz is interesting. I think he left congress so he could get a talk gig on Fox. Using Occam’s Razor as you suggest.

I like the guy and never picked up any aspersions against Trump.

But I’ll be keeping ears wide open.

I respectfully disagree. I didn’t jump off the bandwagon without a lot of thought.

I wish I could share your optimism.

In any case, time will tell. You’re right when you say it has only been 8 months, but that can also be a time to get things done, too.

The longer one waits, the more inertia sets in.

Meanwhile President Trump takes all the heat while all the rest pile on and hurl stones and arrows into him.

Jeff, if truly loyal, can say and do things to help him. He needs to act.

Soon.

I share an unease with Sessions after thinking he would be the best choice for AG. Then, the #1 issue was immigration (wall, deporting the illegals, etc) and Jeff was the Senate expert who wrote much of Trump's position papers. But, out of the box Trump sabotaged the 7 country immigration “pause” by calling it a “Muslim Ban” and not what it was. The Hawaii Judge has had the DOJ chasing its tails trying to justify Trump's comments. Unfortunately on an Executive Order the President's state of mind is relevant when it comes to constitutional bias challenge.

Also as to prosecuting Hillary's manifold crimes, Trump also sent signals, and practically stated, that she had suffered enough and telegraphed he would not or should not sic the dogs on her. So if Sessions shared those thoughts, how do we expect him to go against his boss's comments, and possibly his own conscience and prosecutoral discretion to pursue a hugely contested case against Clinton. He'd face not only pure hell that James Starr did, but also an avalanche of media opprobrium for being an out of control zealot persecutor. And if he took the safer step of naming a special prosecutor to look into Uranium 1 etc., then he might select a dud who caves like Comey did.
