Spain is to start suspending Catalan autonomy on Saturday....
The PM's office said ministers would meet to activate Article 155 of the constitution.....
Catalonia's leader said earlier the region's parliament would vote on independence, backed in a disputed referendum on October 1st, if Spain "continues repression".
Some fear the moves could spark unrest......

The Catalan government stopped short of declaring independence in the last showdown. This move will probably provoke real violence and a full declaration of independence.

Yes, and I expect to see bombs to start going off against central government interests soon. Also, as Madrid moves to take over local police forces, a flash point will be if police follow those orders or resist and join the independence movement.
The Catalans are standing up to Europeanists-Globalists.
I respect the right of nations to be independent (I don’t think there is an overwhelming support in Catalonia case), but you believe the wrong thing about them right now. Catalans are the most commie part of Spain. They are the part most supportive of importing third world rapefugees.
Pressed ‘Post’ too soon. What I wanted to add was that even though they are commie scum I’d support their independence if 90% of native Catalans wanted it. Principle over preference. So far it is 70% of them (only natives) wanting it and since they are not oppressed I file it under bored people having first world problems.
