Wall #3 in post 6 looks too flimsy at the bottom. The cartels would attach chains and hooks to their Chebbys and yank those bars out, or whatever they are.
Wall is only good if Manned by Troops. Idea: Form a new Branch of the Military—The Border Guard—Like the Coast Guard on Land. Put forts on Border, give em armored cars and propeller driven planes—P-51s maybe to strafe illegal “spies” in the five mile kill zone. Maybe some Robots as well—armored and armed with chain guns. Make the wall air tight! Only guarded gates provide access.

Just scatter large pieces of plywood at the foot the wall. Scorpions will be very happy to accommodate.
Falling from thirty feet unto uneven concrete, or even jumping the last few feet from a rope, would result in turned ankles, broken bones, or worse.
They will be more beautiful...once the graffiti "artists" get to work.
