(AP) A Georgia physician said her plan to honor a fallen soldier by singing the U.S. national anthem aboard a Delta Air Lines plane carrying the soldiers casket was stopped by a flight attendant who told her it would violate company policy.
Dr. Pamela Gaudry of Savannah said she and fellow passengers were told to stay quietly in our seats as an honor guard escorted the casket from the plane Saturday at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. A flight attendant told her that singing The Star Spangled Banner would make passengers from other countries uncomfortable, she said.

No they haven’t. They’ve showed good sense. Who wants to listen to some random passenger singing? Certainly not me.
I've seen people admonished for changing the title of the original article.
Not only does that entail a whole bunch of typing
Ummm, copy & paste?
Do include the original title - When you post an article, be sure to include the original title where appropriate. This helps users find the article and lessens the chance of a double post.
Include the original title on the thread, yes. That doesn’t mean you have to use it verbatim in your search, as the same article can appear from different sources with slightly different headline wording. ‘Delta’ would have been the ideal title search term in this case.
As I have said from the beginning...I am not talking about the search, I am talking about posting the article to begin with. Which DOES have to be verbatim.
I HATE flying! And PARTICULARLY hate flying when there’s any kind of disturbance, whether it be babies screaming at the top of their lungs, cell phone yakking, etc.
Annoying is annoying. She has no public manners.
Yes, it does have to be verbatim. Now why didn’t your search pick up the several other articles of the same subject?
and if this woman was allowed to sing, then guaranteed that EVERY flight in America would have soon have some fool singing or chanting, ranging from the muzzie call to prayer to hari krinas chanting.
basically, when i fly, i want everyone to STFU, and i pray that we all get from point A to point B in one piece (and on time)!
Probably because the other 3 verbatim titles differed from my title where I sourced the story.
Yes, they varied slightly. That’s why you want to use narrow search terms that encapsulate the subject while allowing for some variation. It’s as simple as that.
I'll give that a shot, thanks.
As hard as it may be to believe that a full-time cubicle rat can follow every word and post on the forum, I, for one, didn’t see any of the other 3 alleged posts of this issue.
Thank you for helping to circulate an example of the continued idiot nature of the airlines trying to control behavior of captive passengers. I gave up Delta long ago for the shoebox size legroom.
I prefer to travel with reasonably quite fellow passengers. If I want some music, I will put on some headphones. If I want to pay my respects, I will do so silently.
quite = quiet. Right spelling of the wrong word.
