It was a near perfectly executed presser by The President. One of his best.
Totally. Saw the whole thing - he was in a good stride, "in the zone" - however you want to put it. Calm and in control, and the media was actually asking decent policy questions - one idiot had to ask the obligatory question about the Russia stuff, but got a deserved blowoff answer in return. But of course all they harped about on the evening news was the comment on whether or not Obozo made phone calls to families of fallen soldiers - they had like an hour's worth of substantial news to report upon but they just focus on petty tabloid crap. They choose to underreport, underinform and twist around what they do report.

It actually amazes me sometimes how Presidents in general can comment so knowledgeably on their positions on so many subjects, especially given that in the case of Pub Presidents, they have a whole roomful of people there, eager to trip them up.
That said, when Trump was repeatedly queried about the NFL anthem protests, I'd have loved to see him answer the question with another question / challenge:
"I see no need to repeat my position. But I will address the media: Why don't any of you ask some of these NFL players what the actual statistics are, regarding police shootings? Or why don't you ask them to participate in a short situational training course for circumstances involving high risk to officers, and then ask what they learned from such an experience?"
