Kurdish Peshmerga fighters say Iraq's central government has ordered them to surrender key military positions in the disputed city of Kirkuk within hours.
They were given a deadline of 02:00 on Sunday (23:00 GMT on Saturday) to quit military facilities and oil fields.
Brief clashes also erupted between Kurdish forces and (Iranian) Shia militia backing the Iraqi government.

As soon as that force is gone the war is on between The Kurds and the Iranists. Iran will not easily tolerate a Kurdish State. Iraq here is irrelevant as an independent entity. I see this much the same way as the establishment of the state of Israel. The Kurds have been consistently and repeatedly attacked abused and repressed by their neighbors and host countries.
It is long past time that we fix the European mess they was created and has lead to permanent war through the ME.
The Kurds have proven to be excellent friends of the US and they have the moxie to stand up the Islamo freaks and pound them into dust.
My fear is that elements in the administration (deep state) will throw our friends to the wolves and abandon them and force them stand alone against Iran, Iraq, Syria and scumbag Turks just to keep the deep state happy.
