When Daddy came home from WWII he had four kids already. My Sisters would have been 8 and 6.
My oldest Sister still remembers it well. He was muddy because the taxi got stuck in the mud and he had to help push it out.
He also had two large Teddy Bears. They still have them.

Great stuff! It's gotta be tough for families,particularly young kids,when a loved one is away in the military...particularly when he/she is in a dangerous place.
I love some of the videos on youtube showing a Dad unexpectedly appearing at the kid's school,for example.In one the little girl just ran up to Daddy (who was in his fatigues) and started weeping quietly.I wish I had saved the URL.
