Thousands of penguin chicks starve in Antarctica

Mass starvation has wiped out thousands of penguin chicks in Antarctica, with unusually thick sea ice forcing their parents to forage further for food in what conservationists Friday called a "catastrophic breeding failure".

They attributed the disaster to extensive sea ice late in the summer, meaning the adult penguins had to travel further to find food, with the chicks dying as they waited.

I am confused. This is the Antarctic, and therefore it is not late summer, but late winter.

Also what about global warming???????

But yesterday due to global warming the antarctic was destroyed by polynyas, currents creating creating canyons on the underside of the ice, and massive calving. So dont worry about it, the antarctic is gone and so are all the penguins. One less thing to worry about...
