Hitler’s original plan was to forge an alliance with Britain, in which basically Britain acquiesced to Hitler’s claims in the East, while Germany respected the British Empire.
In the early 30s, there were a lot of Brits who would have been hot for that deal, especially since they saw the Soviets as the main enemy.
Churchill, wasn’t fooled.

Partner, I think the Europeans in general did not see the big picture before WWII, unfortunately we had to send our armies to fight the Nazis and fascists.
Stalin knew he would get the spoils and he sure did get the spoils like East Germany, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslavakia, Bulgararia, Yugoslavia, etc.
Now we know that these countries were a buffer for Russia and now they want this buffer back but it is too late unless you take them by force.
We should be so glad that Churchill was the P.M. of England at this time since he was a fighter and he knew what the British were facing in Europe.
