Do a little research and you’ll find there are thousands of “throw-a-way kids” in every state and most of them were sexually abused by parents or grandparents or both. And there’s no cure and no place to put them. So they’re warehoused wherever they kind find a place to put them.

Them you have those who were physically but not sexually abused who are placed in foster homes with older kids who abuse them. It’s a serious problem of which there doesn’t seem to be a solution.

What used to happen to children as you describe - orphanges run by religious organizations, especially nuns. Many some locally run as in municipal or county, if any city or county governments aren’t rotten to the core, I’m sure some aren’t.

Of course orphanages had checkered histories but infiintely better than the foster parent system which is incredibly abusive, although there are obviously some excellent foster parents.

Another factor which will help is anyone sexually abusing a child convicted “even” once, should be executed, and quickly.

If criminals are not deservedly punished, crime increases. It’s that simple. Since pedophiles are so rarely punished, and if they are, it’s never execution, this in itself is another crime.

And priests. No lie, the Mexican bruja put a curse on the one here. Thankfully, she liked me.
