My uncle worked in a large hotel. He said management will ALWAYS opt for PR damage control over guest safety. Said if anything goes down get an outside line and call the police or fire department yourself, cause you can’t rely on them to do it.
A man that has worked security at three major Las Vegas casino/hotels has been posting about this on another site. He said the absolute focus of security in casinos is money, not people. He said the people come and go, and are not a focus of protection- that it is always about the money, how to defend the money.
So as your uncle said the hotel management is worried about the PR damage control- which I am sure he is 100% right about that. In Las Vegas the focus is the money and PR. Meaning security/protection of guests, employees, or other people that may be there is no higher than third on the list of their concerns.
