I’m sure they called their own security first, to see what was going on. Somebody said upthread 200 shots were supposedly fired inside the hotel at that point. That sounds like an awful lot to shoot at one maintenance man who survived. It wasn’t until he opened up outside that they realized they had some gawdawful shite on their hands and call a po-lice.
I’ve heard the “200 shots down the hallway” claim before but I haven’t seen anything to suggest that we know for certain he shot that many rounds down the hallway.
The maintenance man described the fire as “relentless” but I think I’d feel 30 rounds down a hallways was pretty relentless, too.
The pictures of the door don’t seem to show that 200 rounds went through it. Not sure if he opened the door to fire at Campos or not.
I do find the reports that Campos is being guarded by a private security firm very curious. Who is paying for that?
I find it odd that security didn’t call the police the second they found out a guard had been shot.
