Exclusive – Rand Paul on Trump Healthcare Executive Action: Congress Failed, Time to Act
Breitbart.com ^ | 12 Oct 2017 | Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)

Posted on 10/12/2017 9:55:03 AM PDT by Rockitz

President Trump will today legalize and allow individuals to form Health Associations and purchase insurance across state lines. This is what real free market replacement looks like. Millions of Americans will be eligible to band together to demand less-expensive insurance. The 28 million individuals left behind by Obamacare will now be eligible for inexpensive insurance.

The cost to the taxpayer? ZERO! As opposed to the trillion-dollar, “fake” replacements we voted on, this replacement simply legalizes choice.

I’ve been working with President Trump and his Cabinet for months to get this done.

How will it work? Well, nationwide associations like the National Restaurant Association will be allowed to form groups across state lines and, with the leverage of size, demand Big Insurance bring down their outrageous premiums.

Many of the 28 million people left behind by Obamacare who still don’t have insurance work low-wage jobs in our fast food restaurants. The President’s decision today will allow workers from two million restaurants to come together to form a buying group and through sheer size get cheaper and better insurance.

Millions of people will be eligible for the same group insurance that big corporations offer. In fact, Health Associations may grow to be larger than the largest of our corporations. Currently, about half of private insurance is cross-state, self-insured ERISA plans, and most employees love them. The President’s action today will allow the millions of people in the individual market an escape route to group insurance.

Association Health Plans will be among the biggest free-market reforms of health care in a generation, and it will do more to counter the impact of Obamacare than most of the repeal bills did, because it will actually go after regulations that the legislation didn’t touch due to Senate rules.

Congress didn’t fail. The Senate failed.

The odd positive thing that came out of obamacare is really more of a silver lining on a cloud:

Due to high deductibles, a lot of people were forced to shop price on treatments. Many people have been shocked to find out just how cheap health CARE can be when you shop around and don’t use health INSURANCE. Typically it is a savings of 70-90%.

good job Mr. Presdent, thanks for hearing to Sen. Paul and conservatives on this. Rand has been one of the few nationally elected reps fighting the good fight against ocare and for clean repeal.

now let’s continue to pressure mcconnell and ryan for a full, clean repeal of obamacare.

Rand should resign and join a convent.
He’s so “pure...”

In a broader sense - the combination of the House and Senate is termed “The Congress” - would wager that was his intended meaning.

This merely enforces a pre-existing law by interpreting groups in a much broader way.

I agree.

I’m just trying to point out that though what he said was true, it paints a false picture. It’s like saying your car “failed you”, but what really failed you was your water pump. Focus on that and your car is fixed.

The focus needs to be put squarely on the problem: That would be the senate. And who is the head of the senate? Where does the buck stop regarding the senate? McConnell. The senate failed and he is responsible.

“Congress didn’t fail. The Senate failed.”

They both failed! That “Steaming Turd” passed by the House was just that, because after 7 years of “ passing full repeals,” the House punted.

“And more Rand-splaining”

If your take-off on the pejorative feminist term “mansplaining” was intended to be an insult - it was a fail.

Men tend to use logic and rationality, absent emotionalism and for that they are derided by leftist snowflakes as “mansplainers”. The implication is that men are condescending, stating the obvious or lacking in intuition - that the explanation was both unnecessary and unwelcome.

More often than not, the true reason for hurling the insult “mansplaining” is embarrassment. It is a way for confused liberal snowflakes to draw attention away from their inability to understand the subject at hand.

Where as YOUR ‘critter’....?? Glass houses and all.

I don’t like how Paul and Trump have done it, but at least Paul’s in front, taking on the (R).

Legislation is the art of compromise.
Rand is too purist for our own good.

Do I have to create a group and organize the whole thing. Doesn’t sound easy.

The days of “reaching across the aisle” are OVER! You should recognize that!! We need to right the ship by overcompensating for the destruction caused the last 20 years, and specifically, during Odumbo’s regime.
