It seems otherwise to me. He may have jumped around within the federal government but he was always a federal government employee until he retired very early, presumably, from the department of defense defense contract management agency(sometime in the 80s?). unless he took a job after that that we don’t know about yet of course.

He worked as a government employee for an agency that monitors and handles military contracts. As an audit guy, he would go and ask questions of the military officials to ensure that everything in the contract was being delivered, on schedule.

I’ve worked around these folks (from both prospectives). It’s typically a pain because they are looking for tons of paperwork, and trying to find glitches in the system.

In 1976 he would have been around 23. My guess is he worked for the post office while working on his accounting degree, then applied to the IRS.

Would rather be posting this theory to another thread as this idea I will offer here is pure conjecture, theory based on his reported travel areas Arizona, Texas, and Nevada, could he have been a human trafficker, or been involved in immigration somehow?

He made a large amount in Cali real estate at that time. He seems to have done more of that and then the gambling gig

most self made millionaires don’t go on to blow their brains out after committing a murder. I don’t think I can think of a single such example prior to this one in fact.

Somehow the liberal main stream media forgot to tell us that Stephen Paddock worked for the IRS?!?!

I wonder if he trained Lois Lerner?

Most IRS employees vote democrat. They vote their own paycheck. I worked for the IRS in the 70’s and 80’s and I voted for Jimmah Carter—twice! Back then even government employees knew they got bigger raises from the democrats than the republicans. Thank God I wized up.

The dude cloned himself? What now? USPS, IRS agent, high roller video gambler, lived in 27 different locations, real estate mogul, can he shape change too? Maybe he was an alien from Mars?

Sometime in his sixties, George Eastman, founder of Kodak, killed himself and left a suicide note, “Why wait?”

And he got that first plum government job while his father was on the FBI's 10 most wanted list. Think about that for a second.

Newman: Because the mail never stops. It just keeps coming and coming and coming. There’s never a letup, it’s relentless. Every day it piles up more and more, and you gotta get it out, but the more you get out, the more keeps coming in! And then the bar code reader breaks! And then it’s Publisher’s Clearinghouse Day...!

Sounds like a job at Fed-Ex or UPS as a "package handler"
