This is the type of case I refer to when I advocate the need for a simple court hearing, judgment of guilt for a capital crime, and execution by hanging, all within a maximum time of one week. Oh, and the question of motive, other than self-defense, would no longer be admissible.

Sounds like South Carolina in 1950 to me. All it took was for one second grader to say something that could be interpreted as calling another a liar and all hell would break loose. Many of the boys would have considered themselves disgraced if they went through an entire school year without getting into a fistfight on the schoolyard. Heated arguments with pushing and shoving were an everyday occurrence.
