Undersheriff Kevin McMahill
Im 100 percent confident there was one shooter, he said.

Originally, police said Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos arrived on the scene after the shooting started and saved lives by stopping Paddock from continuing to fire.
However, McMahill said that timeline has changed after speaking to Campos and others involved.
According to McMahill, Campos was checking the 23rd floor of the hotel on a report of a problem with an alarmed stairwell door. When he arrived, he noticed the door wouldnt open. He called maintenance to the area to fix the door. While waiting for maintenance, he heard drilling sounds, which he found odd.
He went to the room where he heard the drilling. Because Paddock had mounted cameras outside his door, he saw Campos coming and shot him and fired several rounds down the hallway.
Paddock then turned his guns on the crowd.

As far as the drilling sound Campos heard, McMahill said Paddock did drill out the peephole in the door of the room and he drilled another hole on the door frame next to a wall, but investigators can't say for sure what that hole was for.

Other highlights:
- Paddock had 23 different types of semi-automatic rifles, that's why some shots sound different than other
- second broken window allowed Paddock to shoot at fuel tanks
- 100% confident only one shooter, and cops did indeed check the roof for possible shooters
- reports of shooters at other hotels probably because victims from concert returned to their hotels
- possible escape theory is because they found a gas mask and other items in the room, plus he still had explosives in the car he hadn't used
I only have one question. What was the motive?
First I’ve heard of the gas mask.
And I'm 100 percent confident I won't believe whatever conclusions are reached by this "investigation."
I seem to recall McMahill himself telling us before that the door ajar was several doors down.
Now he says they were talking about the fire stairwell door right next to Paddock’s room.
Their prior version always seemed odd - the unarmed security guard walking down the long hall to Paddock’s suite to check on a drilling sound while Paddock was shooting up the concert and cops and security trying to locate an active shooter.
Interesting that the new version in which Campos hears drilling and approaches the suite before Paddock starts shooting and while he is still making preparations, and then Paddock shoots at him through the door and Campos retreats to the elevator bank for nearly 20 minutes until cops show up - this means that now, under the new version, they can say there couldn’t have been anyone else who was in Paddock’s room and got out of the hotel without Campos seeing him, because the fire door was screwed shut and a second person would have had to pass by Campos at the elevator bank.
Why did he shoot himself before he ran out of ammunition to fire at the crowd? It seems strange to me.
Allahu Akbar
BECAUSE HE WAS A FRICKIN' ARMS DEALER WHO ALSO LAUNDERED MONEY THROUGH CASINOS, THAT'S WHY.
Vegas changing the software on the video poker machines that he was addicted to, giving a greater advantage to the house. To him, this was the same as cheating.
You’re not convinced he was a strange guy yet? Maybe he felt that shooting Campos had wrecked his plans for escape and just blew his brains out before he got caught. Who knows.
Be patient, who knows what else they will come up with?
Here’s a theory:
Paddock had a box of tracer ammo. Also the 50lbs of tannerite in his car.
Maybe the original plan was to park the tannerite near the fuel storage tanks, and then Paddock would use the tracers to allow him to hit that particular target.
The leaked parking receipt on Laura Loomer’s twitter feed shows the final parking was in the name of Marilou Danley.
Perhaps originally a female confederate was supposed to get the van from valet using her ID and drive it to the fuel storage tanks.
FBI spokesman just a few hours after the shooting firmly stated that there was no evidence of collusion with international terrorism. Wonder how he knew that so soon and knows nothing else since.
DID THEY INSPECT THE TOPS OF THE ELEVATORS INSIDE THE ELEVATORS SHAFTS? That is a great way to gain access to the floor above you!
The fleeing Mohammed was probably wearing a security guard's uniform, and in the chaos NO ONE NOTICED OR CARED. Did you notice Paddock's black pants and gloves? Very guard-esque.
The same people who allowed one man to take 23 semi-auto rifles to his room are also going to catch a Mohammed in a security guard's uniform? Riiiiiggghhht.
For all I know, Campos was doubling as a male prostitute and was friendly with Paddock and other high rollers. What was he doing up there all that time prior to the cops getting there? Why the inconsistencies in the time line?
Same here about never hearing of this gas mask before now. Yesterday I never heard of him having a drill either. Before long, we’ll find out he saved 15% on his car insurance by switching to Geico...
Within the first hour they were already saying we will NEVER know.
Future terrorists are making note to use peel and stick cameras.
Well at least he was very thorough.
On the bus stop video we can hear a single shot and then another single shot 10 seconds later, as Paddock shot himself a second time to make sure he was good and dead.
He thought the cops would be there a lot sooner than they were. In that way the security guard messed his plans up.
It makes more sense that the stairwell door would be monitored than that a guests room door would be noticed if it was ajar.
I want to know the exact time that hotel security called 911 to say they had an active shooter on the 32nd floor at room 135. I listened to the scanner from the time during the event. Nowhere during the recording does the dispatcher say, hotel security says they have a shooter at ..... So did the hotel not call in the shooter or did dispatch lose the info in all the pandemonium? I am starting to think someone at the hotel delayed calling for some reason. You would think Dispatch would want to do everything they could to help their team. Everything on the scanner was about the cops searching/clearing other floors and reports of all the injured/wounded, etc.
