Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has reportedly said he would be prepared to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in an attempt to bring "permanent peace" to the Korean Peninsula.
"Should former President Carter be able to visit North Korea, he would like to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and discuss a peace treaty between the United States and the North, and a complete denuclearization of North Korea," Park Han-shik, professor of international affairs at the University of Georgia, said in an interview published by South Korea's JoongAng Daily on Tuesday.
Park claimed that Carter visited his home at the end of September and told him that he wanted to "contribute toward establishing a permanent peace regime on the Korean Peninsula."
Carter's comments could further aggravate President Donald Trump after media reports surfaced last month which said a senior U.S. state department official had been sent by the White House to ask Carter not to speak publicly about the geopolitical crisis.

Many years ago I shared a few beers with Billy Carter in Atlanta (on several occasions). Obviously, he was a "Good Ole'Boy" and a free talker... He spoke of his Brother as a "Naive Dreamer" who would been in poverty were it not for Rosalyn. She evidently kept the Carter Peanut Warehouse afloat while Jimmy was recruited for higher plains by various "Operators".
To this date he remains a dreamer, a good person seeking a better world, ignoring the real world!

Questions: Why didn't you end the Korean War when Kim Il Sung still ruled the NORKS and you were President? Why didn't you end the Korean War in 1994 when you met with Kim Il Sung six months before he died?
Carter will NEVER go to N. Korea as a a representative of the U.S. Government, if he’s allowed to go at all.
Note the discussions of possible military actions have been reving up. Suddenly Jimmy wants to be in North Korea. Where it would then become impossible to drop bombs on a former president. I think he’s trying to become a human shield to save North Korea. And I wouldn’t trust him not to go without permission in order to save the world. And get another Nobel Peace Prize.
Jimmy will negotiate the surrender to N Korea then hail peace in our time.
I didn’t say what to replace the regime with... replacing them with a glass parking lot works for me.
