I have worked in Hollywood since the late 1970s. Men have always used their power to gain sexual satisfaction, as women have used the promise of sexual satisfaction to gain power. “Haaaaaahvey” is hardly unique, any more than Madonna (to pick an easy example) was unique in using horizontal activities to ascend vertically in showbiz.
The New York Times was one of the enablers.

Point is everyone knows how the game is played and these starlets are not innocent. They know you trade sex for a part in a movie and are willing participants.

My interest in this story has zero to do with the marketplace for sex, which, having been around the block a few times, I am (to a degree) familiar with.
But for the NYT to go all in in this manner is VERY interesting.

As I said before, I am sure the abuse of women is a thoroughly bipartisan practice.
However, the NYT treatment of abusers is far from bipartisan, which is why what they did and why they did it as regards Harvey Weinstein is so interesting.
