I have no problem with the theory that he was a gun dealer. I was just addressing the theory that what happen was a gun deal gone bad to explain the number of guns in the room. I’ve seen it proposed on here.

Being a gun runner would explain a lot of the loose ends.

Right. A dealer would not be dealing guns like that. He might have a few samples and the deal would perhaps be made in such a place but the piles of ammo and the large number of guns present would suggest strongly that was not the case there. I find interesting the idea that he was set up to do what he did by people with whom he had been dealing and thought there was an organized exit. It may well be that he did not kill himself but that a supposed client or agent killed him, perhaps the security guard.
