No one is attacking women or their right to birth control. This is nonsense, first of all men and women need to have personal responsibility when it comes to having sex. Second of all birth control is dirt cheap, it just is absolutely dirt cheap.
Why should women or anyone expect others to pay for their birth control? I thought being a feminist is supposed to mean independence, responsibility- “I am woman, hear me roar” how does that mesh with begging for someone else to pay for birth control? If a woman cannot afford birth control, why does she not expect her sex partner to pay for it? That would make sense, don’t ask me to pay for it.
When I hear women cry for birth control I think they need to take the time away from having sex to go find a job or a better job- make changes in their life so they won’t have to beg for birth control.
This is a contrived issue, not really an issue at all.
..an abortion is to save the life of the mother or child
How does an abortion save the life of a child?
If the govt doesnt fund my dental floss, it is limiting my access to dental floss.
What else is the “government limiting access to?”
- food
- cable tv
- housing
- clothing
- electricity
- water
- cell service
There is no end of “necessities” that people can feel they have a right to.
How this contrasts to earlier, pioneering Americans. Right now we are listening to the Little House on the Prairie books on the way to school. When the grasshoppers destroyed Pa’s wheat crop, he had no choice, the next morning he attempted one more repair of his old cracked boots, left Ma and the girls at home in their little house, and WALKED THREE HUNDRED MILES to find work on a farm. Earned his $1 a day and after the season ended walked the f back.
We need some of that simple knowledge that you die if you don’t work your ass off to not die.
You don’t need birth control. You don’t need intercourse with a fertile woman. But if you want birth control, wash dishes at a restaurant and earn the $20.
Years ago it was said that all a woman needed for birth control was one aspirin...as long as she held it between her knees.
There is no abortion to save the life of the mother. Sorry. Doesn’t exist.
Worst case scenarios, attempt to ride out the pregnancy until you can take the baby early. Yes, the baby might not make it. But there is no reason to rip out a baby in the first trimester to save a mother.
Abortion is child-murder. It is not to save the life of the child -— ever.
>>I have had health insurance all my life, and never had a policy that covered contraceptives.
Really? My health insurance has always covered it (with a co-pay for name-brand rx, of course). But I’m only 55. I wasn’t working before The Pill.
>>A bad move in an alternate liberal universe.
We are in an alternate Progressive universe. (Not liberal. Bad choice of terms since Progs are not liberal.)
I’m only 65. I wasn’t working before the Pill, either.
Don’t underestimate the current electoral landscape. It’s slowly changing. People are appreciating the non pc approach Trump provides. The media trigger words don’t have the same effect anymore.

I am certainly NOT underestimating the current electoral landscape OR the demographic facts.
The Boomers are starting to die off. This is good because, on the average, they are the leaders and financers of the Progressive movement. They are the hard-core Union Democrats and the greediest of the capitalists. They are the people who think that their good works in the 1960s and 1970s give them moral superiority for any atrocity they demand or commit today.
Gen X is hitting their stride. This is the generation who entered adulthood as Communism was dying. Unfortunately, the Boomers stole their future. This generation is the core of Conservatism today (not the 1988 version which Conservative Boomers still thinks exists, but the 2016 version).
Gen Y/Millennials are rising and are a generation of people who do nothing useful, but think they are the center of the universe. They are Gods in their own minds. They’ve absorbed the worst of what the Boomer Progs taught them, what their overworked Gen X parents demonstrated to them, and think that internet activism and violent protest are what America is all about.
Gen Z, the Post-Millennials, have promise as the ones who grow up and say “ENOUGH!” and actually start demanding a decent society. Or it might be their kids.
So, depending on how old you are, you might live to see things get worse or you might live to see things get worse and then better.
