From what I heard they have run out of food and especially water so they are suffering from dehydrated Islamic radicalism. Just add water and they’ll be just as radical as before - maybe more so for having lost faith on the battlefield so they’ll have to redeem themselves through more murder.
Don’t know about in Iraq, but in Syria they don’t want to be captured by Assad’s forces or the Russians.

Some of those were released in Syria. I’m not smart enough to know if that is how it should have been handled, but know it happened in some cases.
No summary executions. They have to be sorted out and the Kurds can do that very well. Give the butchers a trial and then shoot them. There will be plenty of locals to give testimony and there may not be too many of the butchers left at this point. Most have been killed.
The ones from Europe and the UK should be held indefinitely or executed. Their respective governments will probably get to decide. French ones will be shot and UK ones will likely be returned to the UK for extensive coddling.
The ones who are local to MENA and who are not butchers should be held and abused for a while and then let go. At least that’s what I would do.
