Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-KS) used an October 5 press release to announce his support for gun control for bump stocks.
His announcement was tweeted by KCTVs Emily Sinovic with the hashtag #GunControl

How many democrats do you think will vote for funding the wall?
The aisle in congress is apparently only one way.
The NRA is wobbling as well, of course they always were GOPe supporters like National Right to Life on abortion and other life issues.
The 20-week ban idea is for show, not the reversal of Roe vs. Wade which is opposed by the wealthy business-banking elites who support Planned Parenthood and the Uniparty political machine.
No one is going to manufacture one of these ever again. Gun accessories are not immune from Civil Suits. Whoever manufactured Paddock’s bump stock should take whatever money they have now and shutter their company. There are 600 lawsuits about to be filed.
He’s been a critter since 2011 and apparently has ‘grown’ in office. Time to move him along.
When are we going to have a “national conversation” on abortion? What about “reasonable restrictions?” Until then, MOLON LABE!!”
How does he feel about National Concealed Carry Reciprocity? Let me guess? He’s never heard of it.
Anybody with access to a 3D printer can make one of these
Quite the contrary, out of country manufacturers are about to experience an explosion in business, production and demand.
Too many things out there to bypass legislation. From rubber bands, shoe strings, and piano wire that can turn a semi-auto into a full auto without breaking the laws.
I saw a photo of a lever that went on a 1911 pistol. When you pull the trigger, the slide hits the lever, forces your finger forward, and when the slide goes back into battery your finger pressure causes it to fire again.
Imagine the death grip needed to hold that!
Necessity is and will always be the mother of invention.
Isn’t “Yoder” a Mennonite or Amish surname?
Even the NRA is for restrictions on these items.
They are not “guns”, and they are not really needed to make a gun a gun. They are an accessory, and one that has little utility to make your guns more likely to protect you.
In general I don’t like banning us from owning things, but I don’t see the gun stock as a 2nd amendment issue, just a general freedom issue, which we lost long ago when someone decided the government could require me to buy a license before I threw a line with a hook on it into a stream.
“his support for gun control for bump stocks.”
Prior to this attack, have never heard of bump stocks being used for weapons in normal life. When are these idiots gonna learn that you cannot stop something from being used for this type of action by making the item against the law. Terrorists. like the LV shooter, do not follow laws.
And regular citizens that own guns do not buy these items, whether legal or not, to kill other people. So what you’re accomplishing by making a gun or item applied to weapons illegal is you’re telling the good person he can’t have it. The bad one is going to get it anyway from either on the street here or outside the borders and get it in. And the same people will kill people the same as it has been done before. And they’re still dead. And nothing was changed. Idiots!

Make a deal with the Dims: If they support the 20-month restriction on abortion, the Reps will support the ban on the bump-stock.
“In general I dont like banning us from owning things”
I heard a great analogy on this on the Limbaugh show yesterday. Because obesity is a great killer of people, should they ban forks. Same thing.

This is the equivalent of having a drunk driver cruise through a town at 100 MPH and kill someone, and limiting everyone else to 15 MPH as a result.
No, I don’t own a bump stock...but the idea that I cannot purchase something because a bunch of control freaks insist on it irks the crap out of me. I am inclined to buy one, JUST BECAUSE the Schumer types want to ban it.
As usual, the GOP compromise with the Dems and moves toward their position. Great negotiating strategy and the Republicans get nothing in return.
You aren’t alone and a lot of people who will never use these stocks have bought one just because they are likely to be prohibited.
Restricting bump stock would be OK by me if it were passed as an amendment to the 2017 SHARE act. Deregulating suppressors and preventing states from persecuting out of state gun owners who are just passing through in exchange for requiring a $200 tax stamp to buy a range toy seems like a good compromise.
Kick him out.
