Wealth alone does not guarantee that you’ll have true friends. Some lonely people become very needy once they find somebody. Paradoxically many such individuals have contempt for the people who do decide to treat them with some degree of kindness. The contempt comes from paranoia, pessimism and a fragile ego. I have no idea if this describes the gunman or not. I’m describing people I have known like this.
Well said. Have seen the same. In fact, a good thought to chew on. People can view kindness and love as codependent or interfering with their freedom/independence. Don't bite the hand that loves you. .
