President Trump reacted to the Las Vegas attack by saying, Well be talking about gun laws as time goes by. According to the Washington Times, Trump praised the police response to the attack, saying on Tuesday the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police did an incredible job. He added, How quickly the police department was able to get in was really very much of a miracle. Theyve done an amazing job.
But after praising the police, Trump made clear a discussion on gun laws is coming:

Probably means enforcement of the ones on the books.
I’m okay with banning bump stocks. I’d be disappointed at the useless gesture, but it’s not a fatal error. Any restrictions on magazines or on semi-auto, and it’s over for President Trump . . . and for America.
Agreed.
Trump’s statement is very neutral, but as usual a lot of people will assume the worst.
Yes, gun laws. National preemption, CCW valid in all states just like a driver’s license, and DC, as a federal district, shall respect CCW and laws of all states. Anything else, combined with wobbly response on illegal aliens and amnesty, will mean Trump loses his base and is one term only.
That is why, if he moves the wrong way on this, he may as well stop. Tread very careful here DJT.
No, gun owning citizens, gun owning voters. NRA is one of many voices for us.
No, we won’t.
You can have a pass on a lot of things bro but, that is a no go.....period...
If Trump thinks the Bill of Rights is going to be revisited, he will see that America itself will be revisited.
If he wants that, well, we shall revisit it.
I think President Trump understands his base pretty well on this issue.
You’re right about them losing their jobs. Trump will not abandon us. Thanks for the info.

Stop that kind of Firepower
Mr. President, you have only one option:
You can start talking about REPEALING gun laws. Anything else is treason.
Choose wisely.
I am the NRA.
How about this: Take away all the guns from the criminals FIRST, and then since the criminals don’t have any guns we can talk about the rest.
And that would be a betrayal of We the People, for whom he works. What do you say to an employee who betrays you?
I’m not familiar with the quote you posted, but I fill it in as follows:
Errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to CONDEMN them.
What word did TJ use?
Same here! If he compromises at all on this issue, I’ll walk and he’s on his own for 2020
