President Trump reacted to the Las Vegas attack by saying, Well be talking about gun laws as time goes by. According to the Washington Times, Trump praised the police response to the attack, saying on Tuesday the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police did an incredible job. He added, How quickly the police department was able to get in was really very much of a miracle. Theyve done an amazing job.
But after praising the police, Trump made clear a discussion on gun laws is coming:

Once he loses almost all of his support his agenda is dead and impeachment is not out of the question. So far he hasn’t fulfilled the two big promises he made. No wall on the border and no walls around Hillary.
How about tax breaks for legal gun purchases and gun training to every eligible American citizen?
That's the best thing I've read in months.
Talk about them: There won’t be any changes except going across state lines without penalty.
DO NOT TOUCH THE 2ND.
Right. Just saying we’ll talk about it doesn’t mean anything, but it’s a good way to shut up the gun grabbers.
He’s already campaigning for 2020.
Trump is a tough negotiator, and to him, "talk" does not equal :="capitulate".
My guess is that he will have folks like John Lott and reps from several gun groups on his side of the table.
My guess is that he's thinking,
When we talk about gun laws, I think Trump means we need to have a reciprocal concealed carry in all 50 states so people can protect themselves.
President Trump's remark was to defang the Progressive's hysteria knee-jerk reaction to this act of evil....NO Hillary...we do not need more gun laws...nothing would have stopped this madman....laws haven't stopped you Hillary....
It's not the guns it's the democrats behind the guns...Check out the prison population - over 90% democrats... Trump can't fall for the liberal BS... he's too smart for that.
I’m not worried at all about Trump’s position on the second amendment.
I think he intends to let the horror of this tragedy fade and then start a discussion focused on how more guns laws would not prevent this, and other shootings but allowing more law abiding citizens to carry firearms would help.
Start warming up a new candidate in the bullpen. Who do we got that respects the Constitution?
This doesn’t bother me at all. Classic Trump response. Of course it’s going to get “talked about”. That happens every time there is a shooting.
you have no question mark
therefore you are stating this as fact.
Hence it is a stupid remark.
Bumpfire or slidefire buttstocks were long ago vetted by Obama’s BATFE. They do not alter semiautomatic rifle cycling in any way. One trigger pull equals one shot fired, with or without a bumpfire stock, which merely utilizes weapon recoil for rapid trigger action.
The law is clear on what constitutes a fully automatic weapon. Ban bumpfire stocks and you’re suddenly in Diane Feinstein territory banning: pistol grips, detachable magazines, everything covered in the 1994 AWB.
Which would mean a lot of House & Senate Republicans losing their jobs.
“So the NRA really does run the country then”
No, the citizens of this country who are also members of the NRA use it to make their wishes known. If no body belonged to the NRA, it couldn’t do $hit!
You know better than that.
He can ‘talk’ about them.
In my view, he should investigate how this alleged shooter Paddock, who had no background in heavy assault weapons, who had no registered ownership of full auto assault weapons, how he came by these weapons. So the President can and should investigate how this situation came to be.
If, for example, he finds the weapons were smuggled into the country, or he finds that they were acquired and illegally modified by a leftist group such as antifa, or he finds that Soros is connected via funding of these groups, etc. then he should ban such groups and arrest Soros or Soros related connected persons.
“POTUS could go either way with that statement. “As time goes by..”
I’ll wait and see what he says in the future before I rush to judgment.”
I agree. Let’s give Trump a chance. I think he is wise to let things simmer down a bit. Also, get all the facts. I don’t look for him to back off his 2A stance, but I have been a little concerned about him having too much time in the swamp and some of the people around him (i.e. McMasters, Ivanka, Jarad, etc.).
I will wait until there is an actual bill signed into law before I give up on President Trump
The President is playing the Grand Game of politics.
