If you listen to the police scanner, they first determined it was floor 32 by being on floor 31 and hearing shots. Prior to that they knew it was this hotel and tower and general floor vicinity. Then they went to 32nd floor and saw the guard had been shot already. They knew his exact room in 15 to 20 minutes. Very brave men here.
