Raise, but nobody knows by how much. And yes the personal exemption for a single person goes up $12,000. But the personal exemption is eliminated so the net increase is only $1,950.

If you’re addressing simply filing vs itemized, that makes sense. Otherwise I’m not exactly clear what you’re trying to say.
It’s difficult to make an accurate estimate without knowing the new bracket cut offs, and the rules for the new child tax credit.
I’m the one in the family who does the best estimate and tries to make sure our withholding is where it should be so there aren’t nasty surprises at tax time.
Right now I’m estimating a $3-$5k increase. ( depending on the brackets)
For some reason - they think raising the rate on the lowest bracket is a good idea.
