Add up friction losses in the drivetrain, bearings etc, and motors are 80 to 90% ditto that the batteries and pretty soon you are 80% X 90% X ? then subtract the A/C, heated seats, and electric power steering and you get a lower number. One thing I have learned is this whole arena realizes that in order to make it work, ( like a low drag cross country aircraft tweaked for that mission or racing ) they have to optimize all systems. I expect motors and batteries will get more efficient. I've got to run, but later I'll FR-Private-Reply an example after speaking to someone a year or so ago about getting efficiency up.
