I’ve read a lot of the posts in this thread. There are more questions than answers at this point, lots of speculation. How do we know that this guy acted alone? How do we know that he was actually the shooter? All that we know for sure is that he rented the room and he was found dead in that room.
Blah .
Blah..Blah
Blah... Blah....Blah!
Sums it Up ..at This point.

Why do we guess and debate about stuff that will absolutely be known (and in fact is ALREADY absolutely known, just not to us)?
They killed the suspect, in the room where he was shooting. They have EVERY weapon he used, so they know exactly what each one is capable of, or will know when they test them.
But by that time, we’ll have a million google hits about whether one was automatic or not, and it will be impossible to find the actual FACT.
I disagreed with him and said it was felony to convert any firearm into full auto unless the appropriate stamp was obtained from the govt......
Was I correct?
IIRC, last week a video was floating around of ANTIFA insiders from the point of view of an infiltrator, where it was claimed that ANTIFA members on scene had full-auto weapons in their trunks.
Given this, and last night’s gunman, how is it that the most unhinged individuals have such open access to the most dangerous of weapons?
Sounded an awful lot like an older Vietnam era M-60 machine gun. There are a bunch of them still around, legal pre ‘89, but they run in the $15-20K range. Cyclic rate of fire around 600 rounds per minute. Audio recordings sounded like 50-100 rounds, a 10-15 second break to reload (that’s about right to lift the feed tray cover, reload and close cover, rack bolt back again).

One of the weapons photographed had the selector flipper, thus was full auto is some respect, either triplets or full auto.
